On Sunday, August 9, we will hike the Pincho Waterfall trail.
Along the trail, we will follow part of the old pilgrims’ path to São João d’Arga, passing through natural landscapes of great beauty. Right at the start of the route, we’ll pass by the old Forest Nursery, where there’s a pleasant picnic area next to the Âncora River.
The route continues along the riverbanks to Espantar, where old water mills still stand, some of them restored, preserving the region’s rural heritage. Further on, we’ll take a detour to one of the most iconic sites in the Serra d’Arga: the Pincho Waterfall and the Pincho Lagoon, a space of nature in its purest form, highly sought after for its tranquility and surrounding beauty.
After the visit, we’ll continue along rural paths and through forested areas, returning to the village of Montaria, passing by the Moinhos da Costa, the Parish Church, and the Calvário, landmarks of local history and religious life.
This trail is an excellent opportunity to discover some of the most beautiful spots in the Serra d’Arga and enjoy a route that combines nature, heritage, and unforgettable landscapes.
