Exploring Arga Mountain

2025-05-31

A memorable two-day weekend where we will discover the natural beauty of the Serra d'Arga. This area, rich in diverse ecosystems, is in a privileged location for environmental protection.

The circular trail starts in the village of Cerquido, a serene and charming place surrounded by mountainous landscapes. We'll cross areas with crystal-clear waterfalls and refreshing lakes, visiting authentic villages such as Arga de Cima, Gândara and Arga de Baixo, where local traditions are kept alive. We'll be captivated by the impressive panoramic views along the way.

Over the course of the two days, we'll walk along ancient cobblestones, dirt tracks, narrow trails and authentic routes that will lead us to discover picturesque beauties and breathtaking landscapes. We'll enjoy a spectacular view of the Lima river valley, a sight that will certainly live long in the memory. We'll also visit the Chapel of Nossa Senhora do Minho and the Monastery of São João d'Arga, both of great historical value.

At the end of the day, we'll rest in the peaceful Monastery of São João d'Arga, a historic building from the 13th century. Dinner at the monastery will be an exclusive experience, surrounded by the peace of the place.

Welcomed into the serene and almost spiritual monastery, we'll spend the night inside the building itself, recovering our energy and reflecting deeply on a day full of discoveries.

Along the way, we'll enjoy the sunrise and the enchanting views, living an independent experience on one of the most captivating trails in the Serra d'Arga. Join us and explore the essence and beauty of this extraordinary place.
