This route takes us to discover landscapes of unusual beauty through the rugged reliefs of the imposing Arada mountain.
Our walk begins with a short climb following a small stream shaded by birch forests. Further on, we reach a small plateau where the Escuro river borns, from where we can appreciate the landscape over the verdant terraces of Póvoa das Leiras.
Along a narrow path between walls, we arrive at the village of Candal, from where we set off towards Póvoa das Leiras.
A little further on, we will walk along a magnificent narrow trail nestled half the slope, with breathtaking views of the mountains and inhospitable valleys where schist slabs are the main landmarks of the landscape. This is the Inca Trail, which will accompany us along the slopes of the Arada mountain range and take us up to the top of Cota at 1033 meters.
We will also visit the geosites of the giant "mariolas" of Arada before returning to the Fraguinha campsite.
