Corga da Fecha woods

Nestled among deep valleys, thermal waters, and ancestral vestiges, the Baixa Limia - Serra do Xurés Natural Park offers one of the region's most emblematic trails.

The route we will explore runs through the Caldo River valley and connects three points of immense natural and historical richness: the Lóbios hot springs; the imposing Corga da Fecha; and the legendary Roman road.

Always following the right bank of the Caldo River, we will ascend from the Lóbios hot springs to the border at Portela do Homem. Along the way, points of interest emerge that deserve to be appreciated with attention: the ruins of the roman hotel Aquis Originis; the powerful Corga da Fecha with its lagoons and waterfalls; the enchanting forest next to the Corgo do Carballón; the milestones of the Roman road; and, of course, the famous thermal waters of the Caldo River.

The Corga da Fecha waterfall, one of the highlights of the route, originates from the confluence of several streams high in the Serra da Cruz do Piñeiro, and is a spectacular sequence of waterfalls over 100 meters high. Our route combines several forest roads, small trails and Roman paths through ancient forests of holm oak, strawberry trees and holly.

At the end of our hike we can enjoy the Lobios hot springs, so we advise you to bring a towel, flip-flops and a change of clothes, ensuring comfort before and after the bath.

Overall, it is a stunning route, full of history, nature and panoramic views that will leave a lasting impression on any hiker.
