At this time of year, the slopes of the Douro take on a different color, covered by a beautiful white blanket that gives them an even more solemn and calm air. A natural spectacle where the ephemeral beauty of the fragile white flowers fills us with wonder and admiration.
On this walk, we will begin by climbing a little up the slopes of the Douro to appreciate the views over the river and the flowering orchards. We will pass by the cherry interpretation center in Vila Verde, from where we will begin to descend towards Barrô.
We will take the opportunity to visit the church of Santa Maria de Barrô, a beautiful example of construction from the end of the Roman period.
We will follow the banks of the Douro among cork oaks and oaks to climb a little further and find beautiful cherry orchards full of fragile white flowers.
