On arrival on the first day, we start with a short hike to the Refugio del Meicín, located at an altitude of 1550 meters. This is where we will stay and prepare for the next day's big challenge.
In the evening we'll have a special dinner at the refuge, surrounded by the spirit of the mountains and under a starry sky, providing a magical and convivial moment.
The next day, we set off towards our goal: to reach the Peña Ubiña peak, 2417 meters high. From the refuge you can see most of the peaks of the mountain range, including Peña Ubiña. The ascent continues towards the summit of Terreros, which can be reached via paths that wind up its slopes, revealing the Riotuerto Valley and Peña Ubiña la Pequeña. Then the ascent becomes a little steeper, requiring the use of your hands in some parts, but with no great technical difficulty, until you reach the summit where you'll enjoy breathtaking views. The descent will be along the same route we took on the way up.
This is the highest and most fascinating mountain in the Ubiñas, a massif that forms part of the Cordillera Cantábrica, a mountain range that stretches across the north of the Iberian Peninsula and holds some of its natural treasures.
