This will be an excursion to the highest and most fascinating point of the Ubiñas, a massif that is part of the Cantabrian Mountains, a mountain range that stretches across the north of the Iberian Peninsula and holds some of its natural treasures.
Upon arrival on the first day, we begin with a short hike to the Meicín Refuge, located at 1550 meters altitude. This is where we will stay and prepare for the great challenge of the following day.
In the evening we will have a special dinner at the refuge, surrounded by the spirit of the mountains and under a starry sky, providing a magical moment of conviviality.
The following day, we set off towards our goal: reaching the Peña Ubiña Peak, at 2417 meters altitude. From the refuge, we will be able to observe a large part of the mountain peaks, including Peña Ubiña. The ascent continues towards the summit of Terreros, accessible via paths that wind along its slopes, revealing the Riotuerto Valley and the Peña Ubiña la Pequeña. Then, the climb becomes a little steeper, requiring the use of hands in some parts, but without great technical difficulty, until reaching the summit where we will enjoy breathtaking views.
The next day we will have a shorter hike to climb Peña las Rubias and Peña Cerreos and return to the refuge in time for lunch. After lunch it's time to return to our cars and make the return trip.
