Our route begins in Fiais da Telha, crossing a path of huge stone pines which, as we descend the slope, give way to lower vegetation, full of cistus and heather.
We continue downhill until we reach the bank of the Mondego, along which we will walk before the steep climb that will take us to the Ameal plateau.
Here we can see a vast rock heritage with orcas, dolmens and engravings dating back more than 7,000 years, including the Lapa da Orca, a national monument over 3.8 meters high.
This monument is also home to the Mondego Daffodils, which bloom in this part of the country and are characterized by growing in poor, often rocky, granite soils.
After contemplating all the natural and historical beauty, we'll return to our meeting point.
