On May 24, we head to Resende in search of its famous cherries.
With a meeting point in São João de Fontoura, we'll walk through cherry groves, levadas, sidewalks and rural paths, always with a magnificent view of the Douro in the background.
We'll visit the Church of São Martinho, built in the 13th century and part of the Romanesque Route, and its imposing painted ceiling dedicated to hagiography, from where we'll then climb up to a viewpoint over the village of São Martinho de Mouros and the surrounding landscape.
From here we start a descent through fields, cherry groves and emblazoned houses until we reach the Porto de Rei River Park.
After a short break in this leisure area, we'll make the final ascent to our meeting point.
At the end, participants will be given a box of Resende cherries.
