Fishermen’s Route

From March 28th to April 1st, we will have 5 days to explore and get to know in depth the fishermen's route of our Alentejana coast, considered by many to be one of the best coastal trails in the world. Walking between hidden beaches and steep cliffs, the deep blue of the sea will be the dominant color in our landscapes.

Day 1
On the first day, we will meet in the village of Sines, from where we will have transport to São Torpes beach. Here begins our first stage with the first 10 kilometers of path with only 30 meters of ascending elevation gain. It will be a first day of contact with these enchanting beaches where the murmur of the waves will make us disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Day 2
We leave Porto Covo for a stage where we will see our first cliffs. We will also pass by the enchanting Pessegueiro Island, immortalized in Rui Veloso's song. A day to walk 19 kilometers of serenity where only the sand will make our steps a little difficult.

Day 3
After a lovely breakfast, we leave Vila Nova de Mil Fontes and, for a change, we'll follow the banks of the Mira river for a while. An area of ​​cork oak and pine forest that suddenly gives way to heather and gorse, which must be in full bloom at this time of year. It will be 15 kilometers of beautiful scenery with about 150 meters of uphill to exercise the legs.

Day 4
Between Almograve and Zambujeira do Mar we will have about 21 kilometers and 200 meters of elevation gain to overcome. This is the longest stage, but also one of the most beautiful for its impressive landscapes and cliffs. It's the day to discover small, almost inaccessible beaches and visit the famous Cabo Sardão.

Day 5
We head to Odeceixe, in what will be the final stage of our adventure. We will visit beautiful beaches such as the famous Amália beach and the small village of Azenha do Mar. Here the cliffs are even higher, causing the sea to break into white foam with each impact against these walls. We have saved the stage with the most ascending elevation gain for last, where in 17 kilometers we will climb about 400 meters.

Arriving in Odeceixe, we will have our transport back to Sines where this dazzling adventure ends.
