From Our Lady of Lapa to Anissó fortification

2025-07-12

Our journey begins at the Santuário da Senhora da Lapa, a unique chapel built inside an imposing rock. Climbing up walkways between rock formations, we reach a viewpoint where we can see the surrounding mountains and valleys.

From here we follow ancient paths to Castro de Anissó, a fortified village occupied until the middle ages, located at an altitude of 732 metres. Here, the view over the Ermal reservoir is simply breathtaking.

We continue along the route, still observing the remains of rural life from times gone by, such as old mills, waterpaths and gates that were used to guide cattle.

Whether with family or friends, this walk is a unique opportunity to explore incredible landscapes and delve into the history of Vieira do Minho.

Put on your boots and come and discover Minho with +Trilhos.
