Unlike usual, on this route we'll start by descending a steep slope. At the end of this descent we'll come across the Senhora da Piedade sanctuary, where the Arouce castle stands out and, with a little mist, looks like it's straight out of a fairy tale.
We continue our journey towards the town of Lousã and from here we start the ascent. We follow the Fórnea stream along small trails where the feet of millers and their mules used to pass, carrying grain and flour between the watermills and the town. These small, winding trails lead us to our meeting point, crossing the stream again and again.
