Paths of the Rural World

Leaving the small village of Couto, we will start by climbing the slopes of Caramulo along a cobbled path.

We will walk along these stony slopes between granite blocks until we reach the Meruje reservoir where we can rest for a while and admire its beautiful dolmen.

We resumed our march in search of the imposing oak trees that, fortunately, survived the terrible fires of 2017.

We continue our path between ancient granite walls until we reach the Couto River where the trees thicken and we can hear the sound of water running at our feet.

We only have a brief climb up a small, scenic trail that will take us back to our starting point.
