On this walk, we depart from the center of Tarouca towards the Monastery of São João de Tarouca. A path winding through enormous chestnut, pine, and oak trees.
After some climbs, descents, and pauses for well-deserved photographs, we arrive at this magnificent monastery and its majestic church, which we will visit.
We take the opportunity to have a quick lunch followed by a coffee to refresh body and soul.
We return to our trail, now following the path that the Cistercian monks once walked between their gardens and their monastery.
Later on we will follow the curves of the Varosa river almost to the town of Tarouca, where we started.
